【Taste of Future Sister-in-law】

Pizza and Taste of Future Sister-in-lawmargs are perfect for frayed nerves. And according to GrubHub, stressed-out Americans had plenty of both on Election Day.

GrubHub looked at the popularity of food orders on Nov. 3 as compared to regular ol' Tuesdays in October, and found carbs and liquor topped the list. The top 10 most popular orders:

  1. Soppressata piccante pizza (202 percent more popular)

  2. Nutella pizza (192 percent more popular)

  3. Meatball slider (181 percent more popular)

  4. Burrata pizza (173 percent more popular)

  5. Margarita on the rocks (144 percent more popular)

  6. Garlic knot and marinara (141 percent more popular)

  7. Vegan cheese pizza (135 percent more popular)

  8. Loaded curly fries (134 percent more popular)

  9. Old Fashioned (121 percent more popular)

  10. Grandma Sicilian pizza (118 percent more popular)

Clearly, pizza reigned supreme, with honorable mentions going to garlic knots, meatball sliders, and curly fries. Perfect sides to a greasy meal.

To wash it all down, Americans reached for margaritas and Old Fashioneds. Americans also threw back 150 percent more soju than usual, the biggest increase among alcoholic drinks.

GrubHub’s data showed each region's favorite food on Election Day, too:

  • Midwest: Biscuits and gravy (272 percent more popular)

  • Northeast: Buffalo chicken pizza (302 percent more popular),

  • South: Honey chicken biscuits (272 percent more popular)

  • West: Cucumber salad (307 percent more popular)

And it seems like the American public was prepared for a long night, because cold brew orders were up 201 percent at lunch.
