China’s main AI regulator,The Perfect Taste of Sex the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), is seeking public comment on a draft version of a new law looking to tackle AI-generated content labeling issues. The draft proposes that social media users should take the initiative to apply dedicated labels to any content that has been generated by AI, while adding that any organization and individuals should not “maliciously” delete or conceal “AI-generated” labels. Platforms will also be tasked with providing tools or services to carry out the clear labeling of such content. Mainstream Chinese social platforms such as TikTok sibling Douyin already require creators to label artificial intelligence-generated content to avoid confusing viewers. The draft is the latest AI-focused regulation in China, and comes months after the government moved to impose new security requirements for generative AI services. [CAC, in Chinese]
