Foxconn is Arnold Reyes Archivescurrently engaged in discussions with TSMC and Japanese TMH Group, two companies focused on semiconductors, regarding potential partnerships in technology and joint ventures to build semiconductor fabrication units in India. These discussions have been ongoing for some time, and Foxconn is expected to finalize the details of the collaboration to manufacture both advanced and legacy node chips soon, according to Indian media The Economic Times. Since 2021, the Indian government has introduced significant semiconductor incentive programs for companies that establish chip manufacturing units in the country. However, one of the qualifications for these incentives is to partner with a semiconductor manufacturing technology provider. There are only a few such firms in the world, and Foxconn needs to cooperate with one of them to qualify for the incentives, an official told The Economic Times. [The Economic Times]
